Option 1: A Lunch Feast for Real Foodies
The lunch includes a variety of mezes (cold-served appetizers) cooked in olive oil, cooled, and steeped.
Vegetarian starters include fresh green beans, chard sauteed with onion and beetroot leaves, green beans sauteed with spring onion, fresh broad beans, (fava) broad bean paste, a mix of wild nettle, common mallow, and wild fennel sauteed with onion, fried eggplant, tomatoes, pepper, and potatoes with tomato and yoghurt sauce, seaweed salad, purslane salad, grilled eggplant salad, mashed eggplant with yoghurt, and black-eyed peas salad.
Vegetarian main courses include grape leaves stuffed with white rice, cabbage leaves stuffed with white rice, zucchini blossoms stuffed with white rice, pepper stuffed with white rice, eggplant stuffed with white rice, red (pinto) beans, white (dry) beans, zucchini with Bechamel sauce, baked potatoes with cheese and milk, artichoke, celery and leek, pilaf with bulgur, and pilaf with white rice and chickpeas.
Non-vegetarian main courses include beef goulash, mousakka with eggplant and ground beef, baked chicken wings, chickpeas with lamb, pepper stuffed with white rice and ground beef, and tomato stuffed with white rice and ground beef.
Option 2: Modest Lunch
The lunch includes cold appetizers (a variety of mezes) and a seasonal, freshly prepared green salad.
Vegetarian starters such as sauteed carrots with olive oil and yoghurt, sweet red peppers sauteed with olive oil and served with yoghurt, fried eggplant, tomatoes, pepper, and potatoes sauteed with tomato sauce and yoghurt, green seaweed salad, and purslane salad are served.
The main course features barbecued beef meatloaves and chicken breast or thighs, served with boiled potatoes and white rice. Seasonal local fruits such as apples, oranges, strawberries, and grapes are also offered.
For the vegetarian main course, white rice and potatoes are served with any of these freshly cooked dishes: green beans, eggplants, spinach, peas, celery, leek, okra, and pepper stuffed with white rice.
