Day 01

Phnom Penh Royal Heritage and Historical Sites

Embark on a guided visit to the bustling capital city of Cambodia and explore its key attraction points.
First, visit the Royal Palace complex, the official residence of the King and one of the city's most conspicuous landmarks, displaying impressive, colorful Khmer-style architecture.
Next to the palace is the Silver Pagoda, also known as the Emerald Buddha Temple, which houses many Buddha statues decorated with diamonds, emeralds, and silver.
Continue to Wat Phnom, a historic hilltop site where you will learn why the city is named as it is. Next is Tuol Sleng, also known as S-21, a former high school that was converted into a prison during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979 and used for torture, interrogation, and forced confessions.
Another place to visit is Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, known as the Killing Fields, where Khmer Rouge prisoners were executed.

Good to know: Visitors to the Royal Palace must wear proper clothes that cover their shoulders and knees.
