The itinerary

1
Day 01

Dhaka to Sreemangal and Lotus Lake

  • Take the morning train, Parabath Express, from Dhaka Airport Railway Station.

  • Arrive in Sreemangal, the city of "two leaves & a bud," by 12 pm.

  • Meet your local tour guide and check in to the guest house.

  • Set out with your guide to visit the Lake of Lotus.

  • On the way to the lake, enjoy countless photo opportunities of the tea gardens stretching for miles like a green carpet over the sloping hills. A visit to the tea plantation is a memorable experience. The lake water is very cool and refreshing, and the surrounding hills make the setting gorgeous. The lake is full of rare blue and pink lotus.

  • Take a walk through the hilly pineapple garden.

Day 02

Trekking in the Tropical Rain Forest

  • Have breakfast and go trekking in the Tropical Rain Forest, a reserved forest for the conservation of wildlife. You will love hearing the songs of different bird species. It is also possible to spot monkeys such as pigtailed macaques, capped langurs, slow lorises, and gibbons. The largest family of gibbons lives here, and the forest is also known as the home of the Holook Gibbon, though you need a bit of luck to spot one.

  • Visit a pottery village to learn about pottery-making activities and try pottery yourself.

  • Stop at a hilltop Khashia tribal village to learn about their culture.

Day 03

Hail Haor Boating and Tea Garden Cycling

  • Start the day by riding bicycles to visit a wetland called Hail Haor. There, you can see beautiful lilies, lotus, and many other aquatic flowers and plants.

  • Board a wooden country boat and find yourself surrounded by large leafy lilies. During the blooming season, much of the water is covered with flowers.

  • Have lunch with a fisherman family.

  • Continue by bike to visit more tea gardens, as well as the world-famous 7-layer colour tea cabin at a well-managed rubber and tea plantation, home to the first inventor of colour and layer tea in Bangladesh.

Day 04

Sylhet Sightseeing and Jafflong

  • Transfer to Sylhet by train (2 hours).

  • Check in to the hotel and, after lunch, visit the popular scenic spot of Jafflong, also called the "daughter of nature." It is located amid tea gardens and the rare beauty of rolling stones from the hills. It lies beside the Mari River in the lap of Hill Khashia.

  • Visit the Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal and Keane Bridge.

Overnight at the hotel in Sylhet.

Day 05

Morning Train Back to Dhaka

  • After breakfast, take the morning train to Dhaka (7 hours).
