  • 01 Marvel at the majestic Roman Aqueduct, an architectural wonder

All who have passed through this city have left their traces on it: the Roman Aqueduct, buildings decorated by Muslims, Romanesque Christian churches, medieval palaces, Isabella the Catholic and the church where she was crowned, the Jewish past, and the Gothic style in the last Gothic cathedral in Spain. But the most incredible thing is that this is still a living city. It is a clear example of how Segovia has changed and adapted to be enjoyed and lived in the 21st century, with its bars, restaurants, shops, squares, and meeting places.

Segovia's Aqueduct, Cathedral and Alcázar Walk

The meeting point will be at the Roman Aqueduct. From there, we will continue the walk along Calle Real, stopping at different places such as Casa de los Picos, the Palace of Count Alpuente, Plaza de Juan Bravo, the Church of San Martín, the Royal Jail, the old Synagogue, and finally Plaza Mayor, with the Cathedral, City Hall, Juan Bravo Theater, and the Church of San Miguel.

The Cathedral, known as "the Lady of the Cathedrals" for its dimensions and elegance, was built between the 16th and 18th centuries in Gothic style with some Renaissance features.

The tour will then continue to the Alcázar. The Romans already used the existing promontory for a military settlement. Later, there was a Muslim fortress there, and practically every king in Castile lived there for some seasons during the Middle Ages. We will reach it by crossing the medieval quarter of the Canonjías.
