Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

   • Arrive at Kigali International Airport.
   • Meet and greet your tour guide.
   • Transfer to your hotel in Kigali for check-in.
   • Depending on your arrival time, you can explore Kigali's cultural and historical sites, such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center.

   Overnight in Kigali.

2. Day 2: Kigali to Ruhengeri (Musanze)

   • After breakfast, depart for Ruhengeri (also known as Musanze) in the Northern Province, which is the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.
   • The drive will take about 2-3 hours.
   • Check in at your lodge upon arrival and have lunch.
   • In the afternoon, you can visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan culture.

   Overnight in Ruhengeri.

3. Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

   • Early breakfast and transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters.
   • Attend a briefing about gorilla trekking rules and guidelines.
   • Start your thrilling gorilla trek in the forest, which can take a few hours to a full day, depending on the gorilla group you are assigned.
   • Spend one hour observing and photographing the gorillas in their natural habitat.
   • After trekking, return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest.

   Overnight in Ruhengeri.

4. Day 4: Twin Lakes and Departure

   • After breakfast, visit the beautiful Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo, located in the scenic Virunga Mountains.
   • Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on one of the lakes while enjoying the stunning surroundings.
   • Have lunch at a local restaurant.
   • In the afternoon, drive back to Kigali.
   • Depending on your flight schedule, you can do some last-minute shopping or explore Kigali further.
   • Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure.
