Brazzaville to Lesio Louna Reserve
The Lesio Louna Reserve is a 440 km2 area located within the Lefini Reserve, a vast forest north of Brazzaville. It is renowned for its efforts to preserve gorillas in their natural habitat and can be visited all year round. Lesio Louna is relatively accessible by road with an off-road vehicle and is achievable for average budgets. Here, the Aspinall PPG Foundation is working to save a species threatened by poaching since the civil war, a threat that continues to this day.
The route runs from Brazzaville to Abio 1, one of the reserve's living bases and the point from which the tour itself begins. It is almost 200 km from the center of Brazzaville, with nearly all roads paved from Brazzaville to the entrance of the reserve. From the entrance, we then follow a 12 km track to the base.
