The itinerary

Day 01

Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

Depart by road for Mikumi National Park, located 320 km from Dar es Salaam, with a journey time of approximately 5 hours. Enjoy an early lunch in Morogoro Town before continuing to the park. Upon arrival in Mikumi National Park, embark on an afternoon game drive.

Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and the most accessible from Dar es Salaam. It covers 3,230 sq. km and lies between the Uluguru Mountains to the north and the Lumango Mountains to the southeast. Mikumi is home to buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, crocodiles, and more.

You will spend the night at Camp Bastian Mikumi on a full-board basis. Meals included: lunch and dinner.

Day 02

Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, depart for Ruaha National Park, a 5-hour drive from Mikumi, with a stop in Iringa town to relax before proceeding to the park. Upon arrival, check in at Ruaha Cottages, and in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive inside Ruaha National Park.

The Great Ruaha River is home to large numbers of hippos and crocodiles and attracts lions, leopards, hunting dogs, and other species such as waterbuck, impala, giraffe, warthog, eland, zebra, and elephants. You may also spot Grant's gazelle, ostrich, and cheetah on the plains.

Spend the night at Ruaha Cottages on a full-board basis. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 03

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Ruaha

Begin your day with an early breakfast and depart for morning game drives. Enjoy a fresh lunch at Ruaha Cottages and relax during the afternoon. Later, embark on an afternoon game drive.

Spend the night at Ruaha Cottages on a full-board basis. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 04

Walking Safari and Evening Game Drive in Ruaha

Commence your day with a morning walking safari guided by an expert ranger. Explore the hidden treasures of the park, including flower scents, animal prints, and bird nests.

In the evening, embark on another game drive, keeping your eyes peeled for more wildlife wonders. Enjoy another night's stay in the enchanting park.

Day 05

Ruaha National Park to Dar es Salaam

Start the day with an early morning game drive. Savour a delicious breakfast with wildlife as your backdrop.

Pack up and begin your game drive while leaving the park on your way back to Dar es Salaam.
