Drive towards Nizwa, the former capital city of Oman and a place rich in history. Visit Nizwa Fort, the castle, and the surrounding markets, where you can browse and purchase souvenirs, Omani dates, and sweets.

Then continue to the oasis of Birkat al Mouz, a village with Falaj al Khatmin, one of the irrigation systems included on the UNESCO World Heritage list. After that, drive up to Jabal Akhdar (Green Mountain), where you can enjoy the views and hike among the old village ruins.
