San Bartolomé, Chordeleg, and Gualaceo Artisan Trail
- We will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel, then head east for 45 minutes to the town of San Bartolomé. It is a magical place with old houses and is known for having the best guitar makers in the entire country. You can also visit the central park and its church.
- After this, you will continue to the town of Chordeleg, a place recognized across the country for its talented jewelry artisans. Here, you will learn about the filigree technique that has brought so much fame to Ecuadorian jewelry.
- After lunch, your guide will take you to visit the center of Gualaceo, which has several colonial houses, before visiting the famous MAKANAS workshop. There, you will see a demonstration of how the shawls of the Cholas Cuencanas are made, a garment that in recent years has gained space within the upper social class and is widely used by women at important events, including beauty events.
- Finally, enjoy the 1-hour drive back to your hotel or your drop-off location in Cuenca City.
