Go on a mesmerising volcano expedition in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, and trek to the crater of Lokon Volcano, one of the region's active twin volcanoes alongside Empung Volcano. As you walk past lava stone mining areas and the lava river, you may catch the spectacular sunrise rising from behind Mahawu Volcano. The tour also offers optional visits to Tomohon City, Manado City, or Bunaken National Park.

Between 5:30 and 6:00 am, we could see the spectacular sunrise coming from behind Mahawu Volcano.

Day 01

Sunrise Trek to Lokon and Empung Volcanoes

• 03:30 am: Early morning pick-up from the hotel.

• 05:30 am: After a short briefing, start trekking from the lava stone mining area and pass by the lava river. It will take approximately 1-2 hours of walking from the starting point to the crater, depending on one's fitness. Near the crater, we could smell the smoke of Lokon Volcano. Between 5:30 and 6:00 am, we could see the spectacular sunrise coming from behind Mahawu Volcano. Also, visit Tomohon City, Manado City, or Bunaken Marine Park (optional).

• 07:00 am: Drop-off at the hotel.
