Tsarev Peak is the pride of eastern Macedonia and, at 2085 m, the second-highest peak in the Osogovo Mountains. Located in the central part of Osogovo, this famous summit is surrounded by lush vegetation, dense and diverse forests, deep valleys, and clear mountain waters. From Carev Vrv, you can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, while the top still holds old buildings with interesting architecture. Local tradition says these remains are connected to a palace built by Emperor Constantine and Empress Helena, adding a special historical dimension to the peak's natural beauty.

At the very top stands a watchtower from the time of the SHS Kingdom.

The itinerary

Day 01

Osogovo Monastery, Kalin Kamen, and Tsarev Peak

We start with a visit to the beautiful Osogovo Monastery.
Then we drive 5 km to Lake Kalin Kamen and enjoy its beauty.
From Lake Kalin Kamen, we walk to Tsarev Peak (2084 m). At the very top stands a watchtower from the time of the SHS Kingdom. Beautiful nature and beautiful views await us at the summit and all around.
We return on foot and visit a village household, where we taste mountain sheep cheese and wild fruit compote and try homemade traditional drinks.
We will also visit and explore the Kalin Kamen picnic spot.
Then, by vehicle, we return to Kriva Palanka and go for lunch in a nice ethnic restaurant, where we share friendship, music, and fun.
