The itinerary

Day 01

Lesnovo Monastery, Cave Churches and Ilinski Peak

In the morning, begin with a visit to the Lesnovo mill caves and the Cave Church of St. Bogoroditsa. Then walk for 15 minutes to the village of Lesnovo, enjoying the beautiful views and landscapes toward the village and Ilinski Peak along the way.

Upon arrival in the village, visit the wonderful Lesnovo Monastery, built in 1341, and admire its 14th-century architecture, fresco paintings, and iconostasis. Then climb to Ilinski Peak (1127 m), from where a beautiful view is offered, and visit the cave church and hermitage of St. Gavril Lesnovski.

Return to the village and enjoy a shared lunch and fellowship in an ethnic restaurant. End of the tour.
