Oradea Fortress, Palaces, and Historic Landmarks

• Explore Oradea Fortress, an architectural monument in Romania and one of the few castles still functional today. Inside the fortress, the Department of Visual Arts of the University of Oradea was founded. The construction is linked to King Ladislau I (1077-1095), who decided to build a monastery in honour of the Virgin Mary, as mentioned in the Varad Chronicle.
