The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Delhi and Hotel Transfer

  • Arrive at Delhi Airport, meet and greet your tour guide, and then transfer comfortably to your hotel.

Check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the time at leisure to recover from jet lag.

Day 02

Old and New Delhi Sightseeing

  • This morning, after breakfast, we will do a full-day tour of Old and New Delhi, a bustling metropolis that is in fact two distinct cities - the colourful bazaars and Mughal architecture of Old Delhi contrasting with the formal splendour of Lutyens' New Delhi.
  • In Old Delhi, visit the Jama Masjid, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. Drive past the Red Fort, then experience a bicycle rickshaw ride through busy Chandni Chowk and enjoy a short walk through Asia's biggest spice market.
  • On the way to New Delhi, we will pay our homage to the great Mahatma Gandhi by visiting his cremation place, Raj Ghat.
  • Afterwards, in New Delhi, check out Qutab Minar, a 239 ft sandstone tower and an Indo-Islamic architectural wonder of medieval India. Also visit Humayun's Tomb, one of the most spectacular Mughal mausoleums, built by Haji Begum, widow of the second Mughal emperor Humayun.
  • Later, return to your hotel.

Day 03

Drive to Agra and Visit Agra Fort and Taj Mahal

  • After breakfast, start your journey to Agra. Agra is an architectural wonder on the bank of the River Yamuna that has always inspired poets and lovers throughout the world. The city of Agra is truly a tourist's delight when it comes to historical monuments, extraordinary Mughal architecture, and much more.
  • On arrival, check in to the hotel. In the late afternoon, visit Agra Fort, which was originally planned as an impregnable military structure by Akbar. We will then witness the Taj Mahal at sunset and admire the beauty of this white marble monument. The Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. It is a legendary piece of architecture, a tribute by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to his beloved wife, Mumtaj Mahal, and an inspiration for lovers around the world.
  • Before returning to the hotel, we will visit a marble inlay workshop, where one can see the inlay work on marble and understand why the Taj Mahal took 22 years to complete.

Day 04

Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

  • This morning, after breakfast, we will drive to Jaipur.
  • En route, we will visit Fatehpur Sikri, built of red sandstone during the second half of the 16th century by Emperor Akbar.
  • We will continue to Jaipur, the largest city of Rajasthan, established in 1727 and India's first planned city, also known as the Pink City. Jaipur is known not only for its amazingly beautiful monuments, but also for its exquisite handicrafts and spectacular handmade jewellery in semi-precious and precious stones.

Day 05

Amber Fort, City Palace, and Jaipur Crafts

  • This morning we will visit Amer Fort, built between 1592 and 1700. Within its walls, we will see a four-level plan, with each level having a courtyard. It is an opulent palace complex built with local stones and marble. In the afternoon, we will visit the City Palace and Museum, which lies in the heart of Jaipur. This sprawling complex, with its vast array of courtyards, gorgeous buildings, textiles, and costumes, is unparalleled. Later, we will visit Jantar Mantar, built between 1727 and 1734, which has a collection of architectural and astronomical instruments.
  • This evening, experience the art of cutting gemstones, designing jewellery, and handblock printing on fabrics and dresses.

Day 06

Drive to Jodhpur, the Blue City

  • This morning, after breakfast, we will start a long drive to Jodhpur. Jodhpur is popularly known as the Blue City. It is a desert city in Rajasthan, known for its massive Mehrangarh Fort and beautiful local streets. Although it is the second biggest city in Rajasthan, one can easily see how traditional the people of this city remain even in modern times.

Day 07

Mehrangarh Fort and Old Jodhpur Walk

  • This morning, we will first visit the most opulent and massive fort, constructed in the 15th-16th century on a hilltop. The architectural elements are so rich here that the stone carvings appear like wooden carvings. Here, one can understand the valour and bravery of the Rajput rulers and their women. This fort has also been featured in many Bollywood and some Hollywood movies.
  • After the fort visit, we will walk through the narrow and colourful lanes of old Jodhpur. Jodhpur is a hub of antique handicrafts made of wood, camel bone, and metal artefacts. The Blue City was a major point on the Silk Route in the olden days. By visiting one warehouse, you can understand the legacy of art collectors and their skilful collections.

Spend the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 08

Drive to Udaipur via Ranakpur Jain Temples

  • After breakfast, we will drive to Udaipur. En route, we will visit the Ranakpur Jain Temples. This beautiful religious monument is a marvel of Rajasthan architecture, and one can always be surprised after visiting this rich Jain temple.
  • Continue driving to Udaipur. Udaipur was founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh II after his final unsuccessful attempt to defend the Mewar capital, Chittorgarh, from the invading Mughals under Akbar. The Kingdom of Mewar was considered the most respectable among all princely states in Rajasthan and is still remembered for its courage in protecting its prestige. It is set on the edge of three lakes. Undoubtedly one of the most romantic cities in India, its beautiful palaces are mirrored in the calm waters of Lake Pichola.

Day 09

Udaipur City Palace and Lake Pichola

  • This morning, we will enjoy the City Palace. It is one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan. The palace has various towers, domes, and arches, which add to its charm. Rare murals on the walls and ceilings, glass inlay work, original paintings, artefacts, and personal belongings of the rulers are on display in the original palace.

  • After visiting the City Palace, we will enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola and admire the beauty of the palaces in the middle of the lake and along its banks.

  • Later in the evening, we will continue with a demonstration of the famous art of miniature painting, with its intricate and delicate brushwork giving it a unique identity.

Day 10

Departure from Udaipur

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and fly from Udaipur with a bag full of lifetime memories and experiences.
