The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Arusha and Transfer to Moshi

We will meet at Arusha Airport in Tanzania and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. If you arrive at Nairobi Airport in Kenya, you can make an independent bus transfer by local transport to Arusha or directly to your hotel in Moshi. If necessary, an individual Nairobi-Moshi transfer can be arranged. The total travel time from Nairobi is about 5 hours.

Our representative will meet the arriving group at the designated place. Accommodation is in a 3-star hotel with private facilities in Moshi, with free meals. A thorough briefing on the upcoming ascent will be given, and the necessary equipment will be prepared. Overnight at the hotel.

2
Day 02

Marangu Gate to Mandara Camp

Transfer to Marangu Gate, the starting point of the trail at an altitude of 1980 m. The climbing group is assembled here, and the necessary equipment and personal luggage, which should not be heavier than 20 kg, are distributed to the porters.

The group then sets out from the trailhead and heads to Mandara Camp, located at an altitude of 2700 m. The route is 12 km long and takes about 5 hours, during which climbers can observe a picturesque rainforest while walking along a gentle ridge.

There is also another trail, reached by turning left immediately after entering the reserve. This path follows the river and, after about 1.5 hours of walking, leads climbers back to the main trail. The halt point is Mandara Camp, with accommodation in wooden huts.

3
Day 03

Horombo Hut through Forest and Alpine Meadows

Follow the trail to Horombo Hut, ascending to a height of 3720 m. This 15 km journey takes approximately 6 hours.

The trail leads the group through a mysterious forest thicket and passes around the Maundi Crater. From here, you can see Kibo Crater, the intended goal for those aiming to conquer the summit.

Farther on, the route crosses alpine meadows of amazing beauty, where huge lobelias and giant groundsels grow to heights of up to 6 meters. The halt point is Horombo Camp, with accommodation in wooden huts.

4
Day 04

Kibo Hut across the Alpine Semi-Desert

Continue to Kibo Hut Camp, ascending to a height of 4700 m. This 15 km journey takes approximately 6 hours.

Along this trail, climbers pass through alpine semi-desert and rocky terrain. There is also an additional trail branching from Mawenzi Camp on the way to Kibo Camp, which is easier and shorter by about one hour. It may be of interest to climbers who explored the standard path on the previous day's acclimatization walk.

The halt point is Kibo Camp, with accommodation in wooden huts. The group rests here before the summit assault at midnight.

5
Day 05

Midnight Summit Push to Uhuru Peak

The summit assault takes about 5 to 7 hours. The group reaches the highest point in Africa at dawn - Uhuru Peak - at an altitude of 5895 m above sea level.

Those who wish may descend about 100 meters into the crater interior to pass by the glaciers. After that, the group returns to Kibo Hut Camp, where camp is packed up.

The journey then continues with a 5 to 6 hour descent to Horombo Hut Camp, descending to a height of 3720 m. The halt point is Horombo Hut Camp, with accommodation in wooden huts.

6
Day 06

Descent to Marangu Gate and Return to Moshi

The group descends to the end of the ascent route at Marangu Gate, at a height of 1980 m. The 27 km journey takes about 6 hours.

The trail passes Mandara Camp and then gives way to a tropical forest of amazing beauty. At the end of the journey, group members who reached the summit receive a certificate confirming their climb of one of the highest points in Africa.

There are two types of certificates: gold for those who conquered Uhuru Peak, and green for those who reached Gilman's Point. Afterward comes the farewell to the staff, and it is considered good form to tip them. The group then transfers to a 3-star hotel with amenities in Moshi, and the rest of the time is allocated for rest.
