The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrive in Kathmandu. Expedition members arrive at Tribhuvan Airport. About half an hour before landing, you can see the velvety green Kathmandu Valley from the airplane window, surrounded to the north by Himalayan mountain ranges and sparkling glaciers.
  • The time difference between Moscow and Kathmandu is 2 hours 45 minutes. One of the first things you will often hear during your stay in Nepal is the traditional greeting "Namaste," which means "In your person, I salute God." A Nepalese visa can be obtained at the airport.
  • The group meets the guide, who will take everyone to the hotel and answer all questions concerning the trek to Everest Base Camp.
  • In the evening, we all have dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant.
2
Day 02

Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

  • On the second day, the group departs Kathmandu for Lukla by small plane. The flight takes about 45 minutes. From Lukla, the trek to Base Camp begins.
  • The route passes through Sherpa farms and villages along the trail, then goes to the Dudkoshi River and down to Phakding.
  • Along the way, you will meet the Tadokola River; from its banks, you can admire magnificent views of Kusum-Kangaroo.
  • The group then crosses the river by a suspension bridge and, after a short ascent, reaches Ghat village. After another half hour of walking, the group arrives at Phakding village, where they stop for the night.
3
Day 03

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar

  • The group starts the route in the morning. After crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudkoshi, we follow the road, which has gentle ascents and descents and amazing mountain views.
  • Tamserku (6608 m) opens up from Benkar village. The road passes over several bridges and leads to Monjo, the settlement where the main entrance to Sagarmatha National Park is located.
  • The group enters the national park and goes down to the suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River. Across the bridge begins Dzhorsal village, the last town before Namche Bazaar.
  • The road continues over the bridge across the Imdzhatse River, from where a winding trail climbs up to Namche Bazaar. Amazing views of Everest, Lhotse, and Kvangde peaks, along with a closer view of Tavache, open from this trail.
  • Finally, the group reaches Namche Bazaar, known as the "village of colored houses." It is the main gateway to the Khumbu region, and here the group stops for the night.
4
Day 04

Rest Day in Namche Bazaar

  • Today, group members can visit Hotel "Everest," where they can admire the panorama. They can also walk to the local shops and the market, which is particularly lively on Saturdays, or visit the Sherpa Museum.
  • This is a great place to get acquainted with Sherpa culture and mountaineering history.
5
Day 05

Trek to Tengboche Monastery

  • Descend to the river, then make a long ascent to the famous Tengboche High Monastery (4 hours, 3860 m). Overnight at the lodge.
6
Day 06

Trek to Pheriche

  • The trail passes over high hanging bridges above "boiling" streams rushing through huge white boulders.
7
Day 07

Pheriche to Lobuche

  • Ascend to the plateau, from which, with a small climb, we approach the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier.
8
Day 08

Lobuche to Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp

  • Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5190 m) and visit Everest Base Camp. From Lobuche, the group makes a two-hour journey along a winding rocky path to Gorak Shep, with beautiful views of Kalapatar, Pumori, Nuptse, and the Gorakshep valley.
  • The group then relaxes at the hotel, takes a tea break, and afterwards hikes quite a long distance to Everest Base Camp and back.
9
Day 09

Ascent of Kalapatar

  • The ascent is quite difficult because of the thinner air. In the "hot" season, this road is quite crowded, as many people come to Nepal only to see Everest and the Khumbu Glacier.
  • There are excellent views of Mount Pumori. Climbing Kalapatar from Gorakshep takes from two to two and a half hours.
  • The group then returns to the hotel in Lobuche to spend the night there.
10
Day 10

Return to Tengboche

  • Tengboche, overnight in huts.
11
Day 11

Trek to Namche Bazaar

  • The trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar follows the same route that the group used during the ascent a few days ago. It takes about five to six hours.
12
Day 12

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • The trek takes four to five hours. The descent is quite slow, so you can enjoy the beautiful green landscapes surrounding the Sherpas' village.
  • In Lukla, there will be a farewell dinner with all the team members.
13
Day 13

Flight to Kathmandu

  • On this day, the group is given free time in the city and is then accommodated at the hotel.
14
Day 14

Departure from Kathmandu
