Day 01

Arrival and Game Drive at Lake Manyara

  • Your driver-guide will collect you from the airport and transfer you to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive.
  • The journey from Arusha to the park takes approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes, with picnic lunch boxes included.
  • Explore the lake and its surroundings, home to thousands of flamingos and various wildlife, including elephants, monkeys, hippos, gazelles, warthogs, wildebeest, waterbucks, zebras, hyenas, and baboons.
  • Stay at Africa Safari Lake Manyara - Safari Comfort, where you will be served dinner and spend the night.

Day 02

Journey to Central Serengeti

  • Wake up early at 5:45 a.m. and enjoy fresh Tanzanian coffee before heading to Serengeti National Park.
  • The journey to the central part of the Serengeti takes about 4-5 hours with packed lunch boxes.
  • Explore the Central Serengeti, known for its high concentration of leopards, baobab trees, and acacia trees due to the presence of the Seronera River.
  • Observe resident animals such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs throughout the area.

Day 03

Full-Day Safari in Central Serengeti

  • After breakfast, embark on a day game drive in the Central Serengeti, Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park.
  • Witness the Great Migration with huge herds of wildebeest, zebras, resident antelope, and gazelles.
  • Enjoy game drives through the vast plains of the Serengeti, with opportunities for bird safaris, hot air balloon safaris, and walking safaris at extra cost.
  • Special packages for couples, such as wedding safaris, are available upon request.
  • Return to Rhino Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Safari and Return to Arusha

  • After breakfast, explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater on a game drive before returning to Arusha.
  • Observe the diverse landscape as animals search for food and water.
  • Ascend to the rim and drive back to Arusha, taking about 4 hours for your further arrangements.

    • Cash in U.S. dollars (bills must be crisp, new-format, issued in 2016 or later, with no tears)

    • Hat for sun
    • Personal toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided at some camps/lodges)

    • Glasses (if you wear contacts)
    • Chargers and extra batteries for electronics such as phones, cameras, and lights
  • Clothing:

    • Sweater or fleece pullover
    • Lightweight waterproof hiking shoes or boots
    • Waterproof sandals
    • Shirts (golf shirts or T-shirts)
    • Lightweight long-sleeved shirts
    • Pair of shorts
    • Pairs of long pants
    • Swimsuit (if visiting Zanzibar Island or other water areas)
    • Undergarments and socks: women might consider a sports bra (for bouncy jeeps)
    • Sleepwear
    • Rain gear (if travelling during the rainy season, March-May and Oct-Dec)
    • Note: Bright and white colours are not recommended for safari
  • General Packing Recommendations:

    • Bring sturdy, soft-sided luggage for easy stowing and carrying in vehicles during transfers.
    • Carry travel documents, money, medications, and other vital supplies in your carry-on bag, not checked luggage.
    • If using locks on luggage, use TSA-approved security devices.
    • Leave expensive jewellery at home to avoid loss.
    • Keep cash in more than one place.
    • A water-resistant daypack is handy for carrying cameras and other items on game drives.
    • Refrain from bringing hair dryers, irons, radios, and excess clothing or toiletries. Keep luggage to the basics.
    • Check with the hotel if specific items are necessary.
  • Baggage Allowance:

    • Please bring soft-sided luggage like duffel bags, not hard suitcases.
    • Charter flights within Tanzania limit passengers to a total of 44 lbs, including carry-ons, so pack light.
    • Most properties provide laundry service at an additional cost to be paid directly unless otherwise mentioned in the booking.
