The journey
With three centuries of wine-growing heritage, the Franschhoek Valley is one of the Cape's top wine regions, and the Franschhoek Wine Tram is a perfect way to explore it. Travel in air-conditioned comfort from Cape Town to the valley, then hop on and hop off at your preferred wine estates along your chosen tram line. The circular route stops at eight estates, with the tram or tram bus passing every 30 minutes, giving you time to visit around 4-5 estates during the day. Wine-tasting fees are excluded and payable on the day.

Day by day
The tour departs at 8:30 am from the agreed meeting point, for example the V&A Waterfront, with many other pick-up points available.
Transfer to Franschhoek Valley with a tour guide, including free Wi-Fi onboard.
Navy & Burgundy Line: Arrive at the Groot Drakenstein station in the Franschhoek Valley by motor coach and board your choice of tram line, either clockwise or anticlockwise, stopping at Zorgvliet, Vrede & Lust, Sols Delta, Plaisir de Merle, Chamberley, Le Pommier, Boschendal, and Allee Bleue.
Pink & Grey Line: (26/12 - 02/01'23) Arrive at the Franschhoek Terminal by motor coach and board your choice of tram line, either clockwise or anticlockwise, stopping at Chamonix, Dieu Donne, Franschhoek Cellar, Grande Provence, Haute Cabriere, Klein Goederust, Leapoard's Leap, and Rickety Bridge.
The circular routes stop at any of the 8 wine estates, with the tram or tram bus passing every 30 minutes. Realistically, you will visit 4-5 estates. Wine-tasting fees are excluded and payable on the day, and you can hop on and hop off at your preferred wine estates.
We meet at the tram station at 16h45 to head back to Cape Town.
Arrive at the V&A Waterfront at about 17h45 and return to your chosen pick-up points from there.
