As you ascend, the road offers stunning views of lush green meadows and towering mountains. Upon reaching Rama Meadows, a short trek of approximately 30 minutes leads you to the serene Rama Lake. The trail is surrounded by natural beauty, including wildflowers and panoramic vistas. Prepare to be mesmerized by the tranquil turquoise waters of Rama Lake, nestled amidst the majestic peaks of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Astore to Hunza via Gilgit

  • The route from Astore City to Aliabad, Hunza, offers a scenic and adventurous journey through the captivating landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • Starting from Astore City, drive towards Gilgit on the Karakoram Highway (KKH). Enjoy the breathtaking views as you pass through picturesque valleys, winding roads, and towering mountains. After approximately 3-4 hours of driving, you will reach the vibrant city of Gilgit.
  • From Gilgit, continue on the KKH towards Karimabad, the capital of Hunza. The road takes you alongside the mighty Indus River, offering awe-inspiring views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. After about 2-3 hours of driving, you will arrive in Karimabad, a historic and cultural hub in Hunza.

Karimabad and Baltit Fort
