Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,338 m/4,390 ft)
- Welcome to Nepal. Our office representative will warmly welcome you when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Your every travel necessity on this holiday is our responsibility now.
- Firstly, we will transfer you to your respective hotel, help you check in, and recommend recovering from any jet lag if it is there. Or take a short walk around the Thamel area to get a quick insight into evening life.
-
Day 2: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2,800 m/9,184 ft) and Trek to Phakding (2,652 m/8,700 ft)
- Depending upon your flight time to Lukla, you can either have breakfast at the hotel or get it packed if you have an early flight. From the left pane of the aircraft, you can enjoy the panorama during the 35 minutes of flight. As we land at the Lukla airstrip, we will meet the rest of the crew (porters) and have a tea/coffee break while the porters rearrange our luggage.
- Our trekking guide will lead your way through National Luminary Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate, from where the route to the epic journey to Everest Base Camp begins. After about an hour of walking, we will have lunch in Thado Koshi or walk a couple more hours and have lunch directly at our lodge in Phakding.
- Then, walking aside the Dudh Koshi River and crossing suspension bridges, we finally arrive at Phakding. At our teahouse in Phakding, our trekking guide will help us allocate our rooms. After a brief rest, we can have a friendly chat at the dining hall or walk to explore nearby monasteries and villages.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,283 ft)
- As the darkness ends and sunlight shows up, we take our morning meal, pack and submit our duffel bag to the porter team and get ready for a day’s walk. We will follow our trek guide through rocky forest trails, enjoying the overall atmosphere, including the passing donkeys, rhododendron trees, and layers of hills. Then, we enter through the Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, the stone steps, and large mani stones. It will mostly be a downhill walk until our lunch stop at Jorsale.
- In this way, a challenging uphill walk to Namche begins after having our lunch on the course of which we cross numerous suspension bridges, Hillary Bridge being the most iconic one. If the weather is clear, we will have our first view of Mt. Everest after a few minutes of a hike from the bridge. And as the day progresses, we will be at the famous Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar in no time. The amphitheatre-style village has many hotels, lodges, restaurants, bakeries, shops, and ATM services.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day
- We will be kicking above 3000m from sea level today. We should know altitude sickness, its causes, symptoms, and preventive measures from here. If this is your first time at a high elevation, you might feel mild headaches and dizziness, which is not unusual. You must drink plenty of water and keep your body well-nourished and hydrated.
- After traversing through the stone-paved entrance to the national park, we can see excellent views of Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Ama Dablam, and Mt. Everest at the far corner. It will be the best view day until today as we visit a nearby museum and hike towards Everest View Hotel via Syangboche airstrip.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3860 m/12660 ft)
- After breakfast, we shall get ready and grab our trekking poles, then trace our steps towards Tengboche circling a giant prayer wheel. After that, we will enjoy walking through flat surfaces on the side of hills, with charming views of Ama Dablam. Then, we will go mostly downhill through beautiful rhododendron forests and finally cross a beautiful suspension bridge to reach Phunki Thangka.
- Our heavy lunch at Phunki Thangka fuels up to arrive at Tengboche. After ascending through strenuous steep forested trails, a sense of relief comes around us as soon as we arrive at the top of the hill and check in to a nearby lodge. The most popular and iconic attraction is Tengboche Monastery, the oldest and biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. We shall also take a delicious bite of cake and bakery items at a nearby cafe. Later we enjoy evening activities at the dining hall of the tea house and stay overnight.

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410 m/14464 ft)
- Our day begins with a mostly downhill walk through refreshing trees to Deboche. Then we cross Imja Khola on a wooden bridge and have a steep uphill walk toward the village of Pangboche, where we can have great views of the Himalayas and surrounding landscapes. Then we hike further through rocky, dusty, and windy trails to Pangboche, where we will have lunch. We will feel the wind getting stronger as we elevate to a higher elevation. Then in the late afternoon, after crossing several hills, we jump with joy as we see our tea house from a distance. There are many chortens, horse stables, and lodges, with few shops offering services here at Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day at Dingboche - Acclimatization hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100 m/16,728 ft)
- It is fantastic to wake up and see great Himalayan views from your hotel room. We have our early meal and gear up for an acclimatization hike to Nagarjun Hill. There is also an option to take another for acclimatization to hike up to Chukkung and have close views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Island Peak, and other snowcapped Himalayas. Either way, we will hike to higher elevations and return to our lodge in Dingboche overnight, making our perfect active acclimatization day at Dingboche.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 m/16,105 ft)
- Our day today starts with a straight ascent to Dingboche Hill, and our trekking guide will lead you through gradual trails for 1-2 hours towards Dughla. After that, we will see the great Himalayas on the southern side with a pass that leads to Cho la.
- Overlooking these wonder Himalayan landscapes, including tiny shrubs to the grand Himalayas and rocky mountain trails, we cross the crystal clear river to lunch at one of two restaurants in Dughla. Then, after a short break, we will hike up to the top of the hill.
- Upon reaching the top, it will feel like we are on a completely different planet, surrounded by the Himalayas from all directions. An overwhelming emotion may arise when we see memorials built-in memories of people who lost their lives climbing Mt. Everest. Further continuing our gradual walk, we see Lobuche Peak and a few camps in the spring climbing seasons. In this way, we finally arrive at our tea house in Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,181 m/16,994 ft) to EBC (5,364 m/17,594 ft) and Return Gorakshep
- Firstly, we will gradually walk through rocky trails to Gorakshep, with quite a challenging hilltop ascend and an unstable route.
- Upon arrival at Gorakshep, we will check in at one of the lodges, rest, have a great meal, and stretch up to EBC. The way to base camp is narrow and unstable. We will face strong wind, straight sunlight, and extreme cold on this route. Enjoy views of the Khumbu glacier and icefall and feel proud to step at the base of the highest Himalayas.
- Take your camera out, snap many pictures, enjoy breathtaking views, and celebrate every moment at EBC. We will then return the same route to Gorakshep, have dinner, and finally stay overnight at the local lodge.

Day 10: Trek from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar (5,545 m/18,188 ft) and descend to Pheriche (4,210 m/13,809 ft)
- We must start the morning before sunrise to spectate the best sunrise views over Mt. Everest from Kalapatthar.
- Then we shall gear up and take a steep straight walk in the dark. From this viewpoint, we can hear the gurgling sound of ice crackling down from Nuptse and have the best views of Mt. Everest when the sun shines through the horizon, creating magic as it turns white the snowcapped Himalayas into golden in colour. While we are at the top of Kalapatthar, saving ourselves from cold is also very important. Therefore, you must wear gloves and cover your entire body from top to bottom. In addition, we recommend you take hot garlic soup a couple of times a day while you are in Gorakshep to help prevent altitude sickness.
- You will also see many Heli rescues from here as it is necessary to descend as fast as possible if the health condition of any individual worsens.

We can also feel that breathing gets easy as we descend to lower altitudes. We will get different insights into the same place while coming back through the same trail.
