Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival - Welcome/Karibu Tanzania

   • Upon arriving at Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will meet your driver, who will transfer you to your Dar es Salaam Sea Cliff Hotel by the beach.
   • Given the long flight from your home country and the flight arrival time (international flights are not included in this package), once checked in at the hotel, you will unwind and rest.

   Meals will be provided on a half-board basis ( breakfast, lunch, or dinner ).

2. Day 2: Dar es Salaam Cultural/Historical/City Tour

   • After breakfast at approximately 9.00 am, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you for a Dar es Salaam day tour.
   • During this tour, you will visit many places of historical and cultural significance to the city and the country. You will also get to see how locals go about their daily lives. The tour includes stops at Independence Tower, the Azania Front Church, Saint Joseph Cathedral, Askari Monument, The Fish Market, The National Museum, Kariakoo Market, Mwenge Wood Carvers Market, and Makumbusho Village (where you will have a chance to learn about Tanzanian culture and practice your dance moves with Tanzania traditional dances)
   • After the tour, you will return to your hotel for lunch and rest.

   You will have dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

3. Day 3: Dar es Salaam - Nyerere National Park

   • After breakfast, at approximately 7:30 am, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive you directly to Nyerere National Park (part of the largest game reserve in Africa).
   • One significant advantage of driving to Nyerere National Park (as opposed to flying) is you will get a chance to see the countryside. As you move away from metro Dar es Salaam, the scenery and landscape slowly change. You will see beautiful landscapes as you pass through village after village and see villagers farming and going about their daily lives.
   • Upon arrival at Nyerere National Park, you will check in at your hotel.
   • At around 4:00 pm, you will depart for a sunset riverboat safari along the great Rufiji River to spot hippos, crocodiles, and birds and enjoy the spectacular sundown.

4. Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive + Optional Hot Springs at Nyerere National Park

   • After breakfast, you will depart early for an exciting full-day safari with packed lunch out in the bush.
   • Our driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you for an exciting full-day game drive through the scenic and beautiful Nyerere National Park. This is the moment you have been waiting for! This is your chance to get closer to nature and the majestic wild animals. You have a good chance of seeing giraffes, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, impalas, warthogs, zebras, cape buffaloes, kudus, and countless other wild animals and birds. With a bit of luck and your guide's deep expertise, you might be able to encounter lions and leopards.
   • During your game drive, you will experience the feeling of exclusiveness as the park is huge and you will likely not see many other safari vehicles around.
   • Your game drive will end in the early evening. You may see more animals as you return to your hotel/camp. 

   Dinner and an overnight stay.

5. Day 5: Nyerere National Park - Zanzibar Island

   • In the early morning, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar.
   • Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will meet your driver, who will transfer you to Marijani Hotel.
   • After checking into your room, your curator will sit down with you to review your itinerary and plans for the following
     days.
   • You will spend the rest of the day at the hotel relaxing at the beach or swimming pool.

6. Day 6: Zanzibar Island

   • 
     
   • After breakfast at 8:30 am, you will visit (walking) Jozani Forest (a national park), declared a nature reserve in the 1960s. The park is home to many endemic species of flora and fauna, such as red Colobus monkeys, the magical world of the Zanzibar mangroves, bushbucks, and impressive trees and plants.
   • Alternatively, you could visit a spice farm to learn about the many spices the island of Zanzibar has been known for.
   • In the evening, you and your partner will enjoy the traditional "romantic" dhow cruise dinner, where you will also get to experience a variety of entertainment.

7. Day 7: Zanzibar Island

   • After breakfast, you can go to the Nungwi Aquarium with your driver-guide to swim with turtles or tour a Maasai Village. The choice of which memories to create is yours. At the aquarium, you can enjoy a unique experience by swimming with the majestic turtles in a small pond. At the Maasai village tour, you will interact with the people from this nomadic tribe as they proudly dance and share their culture and way of life with you.
   • After the morning activity, you will return to your hotel for lunch and brief rest.
   • In the afternoon, you will depart for Stone Town for a cultural and historical tour of this world-renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. Among other things, you will stop at Freddie Mercury -Queen's lead singer birth home, now a museum.

   Return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

8. Day 8: Transfer to Dar es Salaam

   • Today you will start your day with breakfast. After breakfast, your driver will pick you up and drive you either to Zanzibar International Airport for your international flight back home or a Ferry station to board a fast boat back to Dar es Salaam. If you go with the second option upon your arrival in Dar es Salaam, a driver will be waiting for you at the Dar es Salaam Ferry. He will transfer you to Julius Nyerere International Airport for your international flight back home.
