Selous (Nyerere) National Park
- Kick-start this beautiful morning with a packed breakfast from your hotel or your residence to Zanzibar Airport for a morning flight to Mtemere airstrip in Selous (Nyerere) National Park. The flight lasts between 50 minutes and 1 hour (depending on the booked flight).
- After the plane land at Mtemere Airstrip in Selous, you will be welcomed by one of our experienced driver's guides for briefing before you begin your guided tour (game drive) through this secluded wilderness area. Spend a full day traversing the sweeping plains, which can be best experienced with a hatch top safari vehicle and look forward to the common sightings of yellow baboons, greater kudu, lions, Masai giraffes, Zebras, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, Cape buffaloes, yellow baboons, vervet monkeys, Hippos and wildebeests among others. More still, you will occasionally come across African wild dogs, African bush elephants, cheetahs, and sable antelopes; while leopards, spotted hyenas and Black rhinos are found in the Park, they are rarely encountered during game drives.
- For lunch, find a comfortable picnic site (with the help of your driver guide), and given the experience of our guides, she/he will find a spot with beautiful scenery and fascinating views of wildlife species in the National Park.
- After this rewarding adventure, continue to Mtemere airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar Airport. On getting to the Airport, our driver will wait to take you back to your hotel (within Zanzibar) or bid farewell as you embark on your international flight. This marks the end of the day trip to Selous (Nyerere) National Park.
