Krakow - meeting and departure
Going rafting down the Dunajec river is one of the most beloved and classic tourist attractions in all of Poland. The tour begins from the center of Krakow, or from your place of accommodation in the city.
Dunajec River Rafting
Upon arrival at your destination, you will join other participants of the River Rafting Experience.
One raft can accommodate a group of up to 11 people, lead by two raftsmen – a foreman at the front and an assistant at the back of the raft. The raft is propelled with long, wooden poles the raftsmen jam against the river bed. The expertise of the raftsmen is truly impressive, if only for the fact that the river may be up to 18 metres deep. During the 2 hours of the raft trip, you will have an opportunity to admire 14th-century Červený Kláštor on the Slovak side. Rafters are also impressed by rugged limestone rocks reaching even 500 m in height above the water surface. The highlight of the trip, however, is a view on the most famous summits of the Pieniny Mountains, namely Sokolica and Trzy Korony.
A bit a free time
Your raft trip down the Dunajec river ends in the town of Szczawnica – one of the oldest Polish health resorts. You will have free time to have a lunch and then return to Krakow.
Return to Krakow
The return to the departure point in Krakow will take around 2 or slightly more hours depending on road conditions
