7-Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari with Serengeti and Ngorongoro

• The drive from Moshi to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. After a picnic lunch in Manyara, start a late afternoon game drive, the best time to view animals in this park. As you approach from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon, forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. Other animals frequently seen here include zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, and hippos.

Overnight at the Highview Hotel - full board.

• Drive from the Highview Hotel to Lake Eyasi. You will see great birdlife along the shore, and the location alone makes it a great place to spend a few nights. The meadows along the lake shores and the forest are also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including leopards, hippos, a variety of monkeys, various birds, greater and lesser flamingoes, storks, and pelicans. Several pleasant private campsites are located in forest clearings by the lake, and these provide grassy tent spaces and shower facilities made mostly from local materials.

Drive back to the Highview Hotel or similar for an overnight stay - full board.

• After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive inside the crater. This is the best place in Tanzania to see black rhinos and prides of lions, including the magnificent black-maned males. There are also lots of colourful flamingoes and a variety of water birds. Other game you may see includes leopard, cheetah, hyena, other members of the antelope family, and small mammals. In the late afternoon, drive to Serengeti.

Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Wild Camp, Ikoma Wild Camp, and Cottages. Full board.

• Enjoy a full-day tour in Serengeti National Park, a place with a fantastic landscape shaped by the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. In the late evening, drive to the Serengeti Wild Camp or Ikoma Wild Camp and Cottages for an overnight stay on a full-board basis.

After breakfast, continue the game drive into the Serengeti's wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. With a picnic lunch beside you, you can also drive to Ikoma and do a nature walking tour along the Grumeti River. In the late evening, go to the Ikoma Wild Camp and Cottages for rest, dinner, and overnight. Full board.

• After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti's wilderness corners for a full day of game viewing in the park. With a picnic lunch beside you, enjoy exploring this world heritage site, where the earth's largest concentration of plain game still roams free. In the late evening, go to the Serengeti Wild Camp or Ikoma Wild Camp and Cottages for rest, dinner, and overnight. Full board.

• After breakfast, enjoy morning game drives en route in Serengeti National Park, then travel through the Ngorongoro area via Olduvai Gorge and back to Moshi at Springlands Hotel or a similar hotel in Moshi.
