The itinerary

Day 01

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Our tour guide/driver will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning and set off on a scenic drive to southwestern Uganda, heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will stop at the equator for photography and experimentation, and have lunch in Mbarara town.
You will reach Bwindi in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at a safari lodge or hotel. The park is home to the famous mountain gorillas left in the wild, and more than 400 of these wild apes are recorded to inhabit this park.
As you drive to this region, you will enjoy a fantastic experience of the topography made up of hills, valleys, and beautiful scenery, with distant views of the Virunga, Mgahinga, and Muhavura mountains, before continuing to either the Rushanga or Ruhija section for gorilla trekking.

Day 02

Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Cultural Experience

Early in the morning at 6 am, you will prepare yourself and have breakfast before gathering at the park headquarters at 7 am with your packed lunch for a briefing about the dos and don'ts while with the gorillas.
You will then proceed into the forest for gorilla trekking at 8:30 am, an experience that may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the apes on the day.
After spending an hour with the gorillas, descend to the lodge for refreshments. In the evening, you may go for a nature walk or a cultural walk to the Batwa communities for a Batwa trail experience that offers insight into the lives of the ancient people of the forest.

Day 03

Return to Kampala and Entebbe

In the morning, after a relaxed breakfast, you will return to Kampala, arriving in the evening, and then transfer to Entebbe Airport to check in for your departure flight if scheduled.
