Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania - Tarangire National Park
- In the morning, you will be picked up from your accomodation in Arusha by your safari guide. The drive to Tarangire is on a good tarmac road across the gently rolling Masai plains with scattered acacia trees.
- En route, you will pass many Maasais in their colourful dresses, walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding their cattle and driving donkey carts. Tarangire National Park is well known for its large elephant herds. From the open roof of the vehicle, you will experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and Tarangire River.
- Go in search of many animals, including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and giraffe. You may glimpse a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. After an extensive game drive, having experienced the various sights and sounds of the wilderness, you will leave the park and head to one of our partner lodges. Here you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
- After an early breakfast, you will drive through the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, is almost 20km wide and approximately 610m deep. It is known for its large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five”—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. It should be recognized as one of the world's wonders. It is truly magnificent.
- In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract animals such as wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks and more than 500 bird species. At a picnic site, you will have lunch before enjoying some more game viewing in the crater. You will leave the crater in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater and return to the hotel.
-
Day 3: Flight to Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, your driver will drive you to Manyara Airstrip for a flight to the Serengeti National Park which we will reach by midday. The Serengeti National Park is the largest in Tanzania covering an astounding 15,000sq km with diverse landscapes and habitats such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs and mountains. Here the great migration of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope takes place and, depending on the season, we may have the opportunity to witness thousands of animals on their search for food and water.
- After an extensive game drive, we will drive to the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at our carefully selected luxury partner lodge.
-
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
- This entire day is set aside for game drives upon the Serengeti. The Serengeti, the habitat of an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippo, is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The rainfall determines the animals’ trek and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, leopard, cheetah, and lion, fulfilling their role in the circle of life.
- After an unforgettable day, we will return to our luxury lodge for dinner and our overnight sleep on the endless plain.
-
Day 5: Serengeti National park
- You will spend a full day in this incredible place, exploring the park, its animals and its incredible landscapes. The Serengeti is the habitat for abundant wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The rainfall determines the animals’ trek and varies from year to year. Apart from the migrating herds, you may see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions.
-
Day 6: Departure Day
- After breakfast, your driver will drive you to the airstrip in Serengeti to catch your flight to Arusha Airport, which marks the end of your epic adventure.
- In Arusha, you will be picked up by a safari with me transfers to the international airport.
