7-Day Kilimanjaro Marangu Route Trek to Uhuru Peak from Moshi

• You will meet the driver at the airport and transfer to Moshi. From there, you will be taken to Sal Salinero Hotel, where you will be served dinner, have a shower, and spend the night.

• You will be served breakfast and then taken to Marangu Gate. After reaching the gate, you will be registered and introduced to our porters and team who will accompany you on the mountain. After registration, the porters will pack your belongings, and the trek will begin.
• You start the ascent on a clear ridge trail through the tropical rainforest with a lunch box. You will be hiking through a biodiverse zone that is home to endemic flowers and montane forest. If you are lucky, you may see animals such as blue monkeys at the upper edge of the forest line. The trek continues as we are finally exposed to a beautiful hillside before reaching Mandara Hut. You can walk to Maundi Crater for a great view of Mawenzi Peak. You may also see white, blue, and black monkeys, or simply relax at the camp and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We shall have dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut - FB.

• After breakfast, we move forward, leaving the forest behind and entering the high moorland vegetation zone. Heather and Lobelia Deckenii dominate the area in good weather conditions. At this point, we can view the appearance of the two volcanic peaks, Kibo and Mawenzi.
• It will be a full day of climbing with a lunch box for you.

We will arrive at Horombo Hut after six hours for dinner and an overnight stay.

• You shall have breakfast and then depart for a full day of climbing to Kibo Hut with your lunch box. This gradual extra day is the moment for acclimatization on Mawenzi Ridge. There will be no need to pack your belongings after reaching the peak, as you will return to this camp and stay another night. You will be taken on an acclimatization walk to Zebra Rocks and the base of Mawenzi Peak.
• We continue climbing the mountain, crossing the lunar desert and reaching Kibo Camp at the bottom of the Kibo Crater Wall.

We shall have an early dinner and spend the night at Kibo Hut, preparing for the summit day - FB.

• On this day, you shall have midnight tea with cookies at the hut before ascending to Uhuru Peak. This is where your determination will be called upon. However, your reward is the most amazing sunrise you may have never seen before. We will push on through the dark trek in conditions of great cold and strong wind until Gilman's Peak.
• At Gilman's Peak, you shall be grateful because the sun will be rising by that time. We shall finally reach Uhuru Peak via Stella Point a few minutes later. We shall spend a few moments at the peak, then descend to Horombo Hut.

Dinner and overnight.

• On our last trek on the mountain, we shall spend a long time going through the tropical rainforest. We shall descend a further 1,740 m to Marangu Gate, where you will be awarded your summit certificate from the park headquarters.
• At Marangu Gate, we will be met by the driver and travel back to Moshi. The journey to Moshi will end at Sal Salinero Hotel, where you will be served dinner, have a shower, and comfortably spend the night - HB.

• In the morning, you shall have a relaxed breakfast and be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
