The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Lomé and Local Nightlife

Pickup at the airport and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, head out to visit some local spots in Lomé and experience the nightlife with the locals. Taste local drinks such as Tchoukoutou, a home-brewed beer made from sorghum and sometimes millet, as well as other locally brewed beers like Awooyo and pils, before returning to the hotel.

Day 02

Lomé City Tour and Local Cuisine

Pickup from the hotel at 9 am local time for a city tour of Lomé. Visit Independence Square, the National Museum, Lomé Palace, the beach, Assigamé Market - one of the largest in West Africa - and a colonial cathedral. Then visit a local restaurant in the city, where you will have the chance to eat groundnut soup with fufu or akume and interview the cooks to learn how it is prepared.

Day 03

Family Visit and Traditional Food Tasting

Hotel pickup at 9 am and visit a local family for the chance to see how local foods are prepared, including deku dessi (palm nut soup) with akume (corn porridge) or fufu (cassava dough). You will also get to taste jus de bissap (roselle juice), interact with the family, and then return to the hotel.
