Day 01

Antalya Old Town Walk from Republic Square to the Ancient Harbour

Meet your tour guide and start walking from Republic Square (Cumhuriyet Meydanı). Here, enjoy the fantastic view of the Old Town.
Visit the terrace, from where you can see the Old Town's heritage, including Roman ruins, traditional Ottoman houses, the harbour, Roman Gate, ancient city walls, Roman Castle, Clock Tower, Fluted Minaret Mosque (Yivli Minare Camii), Ottoman Mosque (Tekeli Mehmet Paşa), and Korkut Mosque. While you enjoy the views, your guide will share the settlement story of Antalya and its general history, along with details about the sites you will see from the terrace. After that, visit some of these places one by one.
Start with Yivli Minare Mosque, also described as the Fluted Minaret Mosque. This place includes a public bath from the 12th century and a madrasah, which served as a university during the first Turkish period in Antalya. Have a chance to see these buildings from the inside.
Move to the Clock Tower and learn the details about it. Continue walking into the Old Town and immerse yourself in the magic of Ottoman streets dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries A.D. Also, listen to details about the traditional narrow Ottoman streets and take beautiful pictures during the walk.
Stop in front of some symbolic buildings that held special importance during the Ottoman period. After a while, arrive at Hadrian's Gate, which dates back to 130 A.D. in the Roman period. It is one of the most exciting structures worth visiting in the Old Town.
Visit Korkut Mosque, also known as Cut Minaret Mosque, because of the damage to its minaret in history. Your guide will share the reasons for this damage. This mosque began its life as a temple, and after restorations, it is used as a mosque today.
Walk down to the ancient harbour. Take beautiful pictures around the harbour and see the antique defensive city walls dating back to the Roman period.
Go back to the meeting point by elevator from the harbour and finish the program there.
