This 3-day joining safari takes you from Arusha to Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater for classic wildlife viewing in two of Tanzania's most iconic safari destinations. Look out for the Great Wildebeest Migration, enjoy an early morning game drive for a chance to spot the Big Five, and admire the scenic Moru Kopjes across Serengeti's vast open plains. Overnight stays are at Seronela and Simba campsites.

The itinerary

Day 01

Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, our driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or from the airport on arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro, then drive to Serengeti Park. On arrival, continue to the Serengeti picnic site for lunch.

In the afternoon, take a game drive within the park. The park covers 12,944 km2 of open plains, making it one of the most important in the world. The rocky outcrops, commonly called Moru Kopjes, within the eastern part of the park are of scenic beauty, and cats are often seen lazing on them. The park contains vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and other antelopes.

Day 02

Early Morning Serengeti Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro

Wake up as early as 0600 am for a cup of hot coffee or African tea, then proceed for the early morning game drive, which continues until 0930 am, when you will return for the main breakfast. This early morning game drive is crucial, as you may be able to see the morning kill from the Big Five.

After breakfast, check out of the camp and continue for the final game drive with a lunch box. After lunch, check out of Serengeti and drive directly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight at Simba campsite in Ngorongoro.

Day 03

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha

Breakfast will be ready as early as 0600 hrs. After breakfast, check out of the camp early at 0700 am and head directly to the Ngorongoro Crater. We will descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day explore game drive tour.

We will have a picnic lunch served in the crater near the hippo pool; at this point, you can stretch your feet and visit the washrooms. The Ngorongoro Crater is documented as a UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site and forms part of an international biosphere reserve. The crater trails nearly 300 sq km and measures about 19 km across. The crater floor is 600 meters below the rim (over 2200 m.a.s.l.) and is home to an abundance of wildlife, including black rhino, lion, cheetah, buffalo, elephants, and a plethora of antelope species.

Late in the afternoon, we ascend the crater and then proceed to your hotel in Arusha.
