North Cappadocia Highlights and Turkish Night Show
Cappadocia Red Tour starts in the morning from your hotel. The driver and your guide will take you to the first stop of this fantastic tour, Uchisar Castle. Before reaching the area, your professional and experienced guide will provide interesting information about the history and importance of this rock castle. Your first impression will be excellent, as this area is the highest rock formation in Cappadocia.
The excursion continues to the second stop, the infamous Goreme Open Air Museum. This impressive open-air museum is worth visiting, as it has been part of UNESCO's World Heritage List since 1985. More precisely, the museum consists of churches built into rocks and carved chapels dating back to the early Christian period. At Goreme Open Air Museum, you will be impressed not only by the setting and architectural style, but also by the interior design. Exceptionally well-preserved frescoes can be seen in churches that trace their origins back to the 5th century. Your guide will explain everything you need to know about the area and answer your questions.
Your next stop is scheduled at Love Valley for panoramic valley pictures. We will then continue with a visit to Pasabagi Valley. The valley is ideal for observing and admiring fairy chimneys and snapping lovely photos. It is also known as Monks Valley because of a small church dedicated to Saint Simeon, situated in one of the three chimneys.
Your tour continues towards Avanos. The area has been the main centre of terracotta arts since 2000 B.C., during Hittite times. This small city was built next to Turkey's longest river, the Red River.
The people of Avanos took advantage of the area's resources and became magnificent potters with unique creative skills. This tradition and art are still alive there, and during your excursion, you will visit a traditional workshop.
Then continue towards Devrent, also known as Imagination Valley. This particular area is known for its unusually shaped rock formations. More precisely, the rocks in Devrent Valley often resemble animals such as dolphins, snakes, and seals. The most outstanding and famous rock is the one that resembles a camel. The excursion ends by the time you reach your hotel.
In the evening, proceed to the Turkish Night Show with dinner.
Enjoy an evening dinner and cultural show held in an underground cave restaurant, where a professional dance troupe demonstrates dances from various regions of Turkey, accompanied by a live band playing traditional musical instruments. Be dazzled by the colourful costumes and mesmerizing movements of belly and traditional folk dancers, and participate in a traditional Turkish wedding ceremony if you dare!
The 3-course dinner includes mezes, salads, rice, a main course of your choice (fish, chicken, lamb, or vegetarian), desserts, and fruit - along with unlimited drinks, including soft drinks, beer, local Turkish wine, and Raki, the Turkish aniseed-flavoured spirit, as well as a range of other spirits.
