Day 01

Santo Antão Island Day Trip

06:15 - Pick-up at your accommodation or meeting point in Mindelo.

07:00 - Ferry departs from São Vicente to Porto Novo, Santo Antão.

08:00 - Arrive in Santo Antão and begin your journey through the mountains, travelling along the Old Mountain Road with breathtaking sights.

01:00 - Lunch at a local traditional restaurant.

03:20 - Return to Porto Novo.

04:00 - Ferry from Santo Antão to Mindelo.

05:00 - Arrive at the harbour in Mindelo and transfer to your accommodation.

Know before you go

Most of our travel will be by van, though we will have the opportunity to stretch our legs at the highlight stops. You must bring your passport for ferry travel, wear comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes, and bring a hat, sunglasses, and sun protection. Also bring a sweater for the cool ocean and mountain air during our journey, especially from November through March.
If you experience seasickness, please prepare accordingly. The ride is typically calm, depending on the winds. Please also be advised that we will travel on roads with high altitude. We will stop for lunch, and the restaurant accepts euros and escudos (local currency), but no credit cards.
If there are any dietary restrictions or food allergies we should be aware of, please inform us.
