Jeep Adventure Through Lake Sevan and the Ijevan Mountains
Route: Yerevan - Lake Sevan - Sevanavank Monastery - jeeping to the Ijevan Mountains: Sartsapat - Haghartsin Monastery - Yerevan
In the morning, we will travel from Yerevan to the northeast, towards the wooded heart of Armenia - the Tavush region.
The first step on our way is meeting Lake Sevan, the largest lake in the Caucasus. We will stop in Sevan and visit the picturesquely located monastery of Sevanavank. After learning about the monastery's history, we will continue our journey towards the Ijevan Mountains. Once there, we will visit one of the most beautiful monasteries in Armenia - the white monastery of Haghartsin. Lunch will be waiting for us in a restaurant serving cuisine from the Transcaucasian regions.
We will get acquainted with the wild Armenian nature by climbing the mountain roads. You may spot mountain birds, including a giant eagle if you are lucky. After lunch, we will head off-road to Mount Sartsapat (2532 m - the highest point of the Ijevan Mountains). We will rest on a rocky cliff with a glass of wine and a slice of Armenian cheese, enjoying an unforgettable view of the mountains. This place is hidden high in the mountains and offers a fantastic view. It is an absolute must-see place in Armenia, and it is truly worth seeing.
We will then return to Yerevan.
Looking forward to seeing you!
