The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Aswan and Aswan Highlights

  • Meet your tour guide, who will meet and assist you at Aswan Airport, the railway station, or your hotel, then transfer you by A/C van to your 5-star Nile cruise for check-in before lunch. Have lunch on board.
  • Then start your tour by visiting the High Dam, completed in 1960 to protect Egypt from flooding and generate electricity.
  • Proceed to visit the Graeco-Roman Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis, using a small motorboat to get there.
  • Later, return to your cruise for dinner, a folkloric show, and an overnight stay.

Day 02

Abu Simbel Excursion and Kom Ombo Temple

  • Around 4:30, your guide will pick you up for the Abu Simbel trip in a shared small group.
  • Arrive around 8:00 am to visit one of the most impressive places in Egypt: the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique design built for King Ramses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari.
  • Return to the cruise by noon for lunch, then sail towards Kom Ombo city.
  • Reach Kom Ombo city to visit the dual temple of Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god.
  • Get back on the cruise and have dinner. Continue sailing to Edfu for an overnight stay.

Day 03

Edfu Temple, Esna Lock, and Luxor Temple

  • After breakfast, experience a horse carriage ride with your tour guide to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, which is considered the most complete and best-preserved of all the Egyptian temples.
  • Return to the cruise and relax on deck, watching the unique landscape and admiring the beautiful scenery of the Nile River while sailing to Luxor.
  • Cross Esna Lock. Have lunch on board, followed by afternoon tea on the sundeck.
  • Late in the afternoon, arrive at your cruise dock and transfer to enjoy Luxor Temple on the east bank of Luxor, where ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features are exhibited. Have dinner on board with a belly dancing show.

Note: If you arrive at Luxor dock by 3:00 or 3:30 pm, then there is a chance to visit both Karnak and Luxor temples.

Day 04

Hot Air Balloon Ride, Luxor West Bank, and Departure

  • Begin around 5:00 am for an incredible 30 to 45-minute hot air balloon flight over the west bank of Luxor and enjoy an aerial view of the country's landscape and famous landmarks. Watch the sunrise illuminate the sky of the open-air museum city of Luxor over the great temples and mountains below.
  • Have breakfast and check out, then start your unforgettable day by driving to the west bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom carved their tombs into the mountains to hide their treasures and protect their mummies.
  • Then continue to the Mortuary Temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, where you will discover her beautiful temple and the attractive story of her and her nephew. End your west bank tour with a photo stop in front of the gigantic statues of Memnon. Lunchtime in a local restaurant is optional.
  • Back on the east bank, see Karnak Temple, the largest temple ever built, constructed over 2,000 years and covering an area of about 63 acres. Take nice photos among its huge pillars and obelisks.
  • Finally, transfer to your Luxor hotel, airport, or railway station, around 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
