Lasithi Plateau, Zeus Cave and Olive Oil Tasting
- The tour starts with pickup from your accommodation, hotel, or port.
- On the way to the Lasithi Plateau, we will make our first stop for a welcome coffee and then visit Aposelemi Dam for a while. The driver-guide will share information about the dam and the drowned village of Sfedili, and you will have time to take some photos.
- At the entrance to the Lasithi Plateau, at Lasithi Pass, we will stop to visit the old windmills, admire the breathtaking view, and take amazing photos.
- As we drive through the Lasithi Plateau on the way to Zeus Cave, you will enjoy the beauty of the villages and nature.
- You will visit an impressive and historic cave called Zeus Cave. According to mythology, Zeus, the father of the ancient Greek gods, was born here. Please note that you need to walk for 10-15 minutes to reach the cave.
- On the way back, we will stop at a traditional taverna to enjoy a Cretan lunch.
- After lunch, we will continue the tour with a visit to Krasi village. Our last stop will be an olive oil factory in Malia, where you will have the opportunity to learn how local people have produced olive oil for thousands of years and, of course, taste different kinds of extra virgin olive oil from the region.
