Day 01

Stella Maris, Baha'i Gardens and Haifa's Historic Quarters

We will start from the Stella Maris Church and Monastery, also known as Notre Dame de Carmel, and continue down to visit the terraces of the Baha'i Gardens. Did you know that Haifa is a centre for the Baha'i faith, and that this is the second holiest place for the Baha'i in the world?
Next, we will follow the steps of the Templar settlers to the German Colony. As we look around, we will learn about its history and the stories behind the German Templars who settled in Haifa in 1869.
The guide will then take us to Wadi Nisnas - the Christian, Moslem, and Jewish neighbourhood - where we will notice the easy intermingling of different religions, cultures, and even cuisines that make up its unique atmosphere.
