Day 01

Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol Walk

Meet your guide at Punto de Información Turística Palacio Real and start the tour at the Royal Palace, the biggest palace in Western Europe with more than 3,000 rooms. Right next to it stands Almudena Cathedral, an exciting mixture of artistic styles that only recently completed construction and is still used for regular royal ceremonies.
Then, get lost in the downtown alleys. Walk through Old City Hall Square as your guide points out the Arabic influences and tells you how the royal family moved the court to Madrid to make it the capital.
Your route will also take you to one of the oldest restaurants in the world and the famous, lovely San Miguel Market, where you can see how people casually eat in Spain.
