Day 01
Girona Old Town, Cathedral and Hidden Corners
- We will begin our tour at Santa Maria Cathedral, near the Jewish Quarter. This cathedral is a mixture of architectural styles, and we will spot an old well in the square. The bell tower was added later on. This is the highest part of the old town, and from here we will enjoy a picturesque view over the historic centre. The famous series Game of Thrones was also filmed here.
- Then, we will walk through 800-year-old alleys and reach the French Garden. See the Arab Baths while listening to the history of Girona.
- Our next stop is the city's second most important, yet oldest, church: Sant Feliu Church. Admire the symbol of Girona, the lion, and hear the legend behind it.
- Get to know the local cuisine and observe the signs of past floods.
- Next, we will stroll around the Barri Vell district and see the city's hidden attractions until we reach the shooting locations of the movie 'Perfume'.
- Afterwards, we will move to where local Catalans spend their pastime, Rambla Street. Here, we will see another hidden attraction of Girona.
- Then, we will finish our wonderful tour at the Eiffel Bridge, with a picturesque view of the colourful houses overlooking the Onyar River.
