Desolación Pass Hike Around Osorno Volcano
- We will leave early in the morning from the hotel and head to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, to the La Picada area along the north face of Osorno Volcano (2,652 m). From there, we will begin a 10-kilometre trek around the volcano, from the Llanquihue Lake basin to the Todos Los Santos Lake basin, passing through the Desolación Pass at 1,096 metres above sea level. Weather permitting, the views on this hike are magnificent. The imposing Tronador Mountain, La Picada Mountain, the Andes mountains, and Todos Los Santos Lake are just some of the observable icons. In turn, the journey allows us to fully understand the geological formation of the territory.
- We will have a picnic on the way and then continue our walk, this time descending toward Todos Los Santos Lake, where a boat will be waiting for us to continue our journey by water.
- After 20 minutes of navigation, we will arrive at the Petrohué area on the western edge of Todos Los Santos Lake.
- In Petrohué, our driver will be waiting for us to return to Puerto Varas.
