The itinerary

Day 01

Alerce Andino National Park and Las Chaicas Hiking Adventure

Depart from Puerto Montt and head to Alerce Andino National Park, located about 40 km east along the Carretera Austral.
Once inside the park, choose between two hiking adventure options.
Option 1: Take a 4-hour walk through the Austral jungle rainforest to either the Millennial Alerce or Chaiquenes Lagoon.
Option 2: Take a longer 6-hour hike along the Chaicas River to Triangle Lagoon.
After the hike, return to Puerto Montt.
On the way back, stop at the Manuel Montt viewpoint in Puerto Montt for a talk about the geography, demography, and history of the area.
