Petrohué Waterfalls, Lake Todos los Santos, Osorno Volcano and Canopying

  • About 50 kilometres from Puerto Varas, we will find the area called Saltos de Petrohué. This sector is part of Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, a reserve of native temperate humid Valdivian forest. It will connect you with the elements among dense forests, rivers, and pure waterfalls.
  • After a hike through the forest to enjoy the magnificent Petrohué waterfalls at the foot of the Osorno Volcano, we will continue to Lake Todos los Santos. This lake is also known as Lake Esmeralda because of the colour of its waters. It is surrounded by low and medium-altitude forests formed by numerous native trees such as ulmo and tepa, as well as the Osorno, Puntiagudo, and Mount Tronador volcanoes. These forests remind us of the cold steppes or the young Canadian forests.
  • Not far from there, we will continue our visit along the road to Osorno Volcano, where we will observe how the vegetation changes as we climb, passing from dense, tall forests to lower vegetation, mosses, and lichens that perfectly colonize this humid environment. In spring, the slopes of the volcano are adorned with all the colours of the rainbow thanks to the flowering of native lupins and other flowers. We will also have the opportunity to listen to the songs of the birds of the area.
  • On the way back, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a canopying activity and discover new sensations by descending several zip lines in the middle of the forests of the area. This experience will allow us to fully immerse ourselves in the native forests and observe the flora from another point of view. By gaining altitude among the trees, we will be able to appreciate the scale of the humid forests of southern Chile. It is an activity you can do as a family, as a couple, or with friends, and it is accessible to all.
