El Tepual Airport, Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas
- Upon your arrival at El Tepual Airport, 16 km from Puerto Montt, we will pick you up to begin our visit to the town of Puerto Montt. We will stop at the Manuel Montt viewpoint, where we will appreciate an overall view of the bay, the starting point for all navigations towards the fjords and Southern Patagonia.
- We will then enter the city, more precisely the Angelmo Market, one of the most typical markets in Chile and one of the most visited, thanks to the port from which cruises crossing southern Patagonia depart and arrive, as well as by those visiting the city, which is also the starting point for the Austral trail.
- Angelmo comprises around a hundred small premises and stalls trading in crafts and seafood products. A great gastronomic diversity is offered here, including fish, seafood, homemade sausages, field cheese, garlic from Chiloé and nalcas, giving you an excellent opportunity to discover local products and flavours.
- After about twenty kilometres, we will visit Puerto Varas, a magnificent little town on the shores of Lake Llanquihue and a tourist hotspot in the area. Its charm, with architecture blending German-colonial and Patagonian styles, makes it a very pleasant stopover and a must-visit destination.
- We will discover this magnificent city through its central square and its port by the lake. You will also be able to explore its incredible gastronomy and visit the iron museum, which belongs to a local collector.
- Explore Puerto Varas, a city that allows us to observe and reflect on the strong socio-economic contrasts of Chile. Puerto Varas is the country's municipality with the highest quality of life, and in strong contrast to Puerto Montt, it offers an idea of the differences that are repeated throughout the territory.
