Heritage Walk Through Historic Bayeux
- We will begin this heritage walk at Place des Pommiers Bridge, where we can behold one of the best views of Bayeux - with the river, the tourist office, and the cathedral in the backdrop. Against this view, the guide will share with you an arresting history of Normandy from the period of the Romans to that of the Vikings.
- Next, we will make our way to the Churchill Hotel, so named because Winston Churchill stayed there during the Second World War. On our way, we will also get to admire the beautiful 5-star hotel Villa Lara.
- Arriving at the building where a famous 11th-century tapestry is on display, the guide will share the illuminating story of William the Conqueror with you. This will be followed by a tour of Bayeux Cathedral from the outside.
- Finally, we will make our way through the medieval city's tiny streets and arrive at Charles de Gaulle Square. The guide will share some more interesting information with you before the final goodbyes in front of the Poppa Water Fountain.
