Explore four classic tourist destinations in Kenya on a safari through Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and Maasai Mara. Maasai Mara is known for almost guaranteed sightings of the Big 5 - lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino - and for the annual migration of zebra and wildebeest from July to October. Lake Nakuru is home to a huge population of pink flamingos and 400 species of birds, while Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. At Lake Naivasha, enjoy a boat ride to Crescent Island, where you will have a guided nature walk, with opportunities for hippo sightings and birding adventures.

The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli

You will be picked up from the airport and immediately depart for Amboseli. You will arrive in Amboseli at lunchtime, check in at the camp, and enjoy lunch. Later, relax before your afternoon game drive at 4 o'clock for 2 hours.

Overnight: Ol Tukai/Kibo. Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 02

Full Day in Amboseli

On this day, have a pre-breakfast game drive and another one in the late afternoon. The rest of the time is spent in the camp.

Day 03

Transfer from Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

Have breakfast, then depart for Lake Naivasha to arrive in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have a boat ride to Crescent Island, where you will have a guided nature walk.

Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa/Crescent Camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 04

Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru Safari

Have breakfast, then depart for Lake Nakuru to arrive by lunchtime. Enjoy a short game drive as you head to the lodge or camp for lunch. Later in the afternoon, go on a game drive to see one of the largest varieties of wildlife, not forgetting the famous white rhino and black rhino found in this park.

Overnight: Sarova Lion Hill/Flamingo Hill. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 05

Transfer to Maasai Mara and Introductory Game Drive

Have an early breakfast, then depart for Maasai Mara to arrive for lunch at the camp. You will have an introductory game drive en route to the camp. Have lunch, then enjoy a game drive at 4 p.m.

Overnight: Ashnil or Fairmont Mara/Mara Leisure. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 06

Full Day Game Drives in Maasai Mara

Spend these 2 whole days with game drives in search of the Big Five and much other wildlife that inhabits this beautiful savannah land. There will be a picnic lunch at 1300 hours along Mara River, where you will have a chance to spot more hippos.

Optional activities: Hot air balloon, a visit to Maasai village & guided nature walks

Overnight: Ashnil or Fairmont Mara/Mara Leisure. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 07

Return from Maasai Mara to Nairobi

Have breakfast at the lodge, then depart for Nairobi with the last game drive as you leave the park. You will arrive in Nairobi at lunchtime. Have lunch at Carnivore Restaurant and later be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or airport.
