Day 01

Water Village Walk and Mangrove River Safari

• 15.00hrs - Pick up from the hotel and enjoy a panoramic drive to the city centre, passing over Ripas Bridge with views overlooking the Water Village.
• 15.30hrs - Arrive at the pier and walk along the wooden walkway. Stroll around the Water Village, visit a local water village house, and enjoy light refreshments.
• 16.30hrs - Hop into a boat and cruise around the Water Village, passing through the small river channels before heading to the mangrove forest. Ride through narrow waterways in search of mangrove forest dwellers among the Nipah palm and mangrove forests, including the illustrious Proboscis monkeys, an endemic species found only on Borneo Island. While searching, it is not uncommon to see various birds of prey, kingfishers, mangrove snakes, monitor lizards, otters, flying foxes, and even saltwater crocodiles. Relax, enjoy the sunset, and gaze at the spectacular sight of hundreds of egrets flying back to the mangrove trees before dusk.
• 18.30hrs - Ride back to the jetty in the capital city while enjoying the beautiful sunset, subject to the weather forecast, and transfer back to the hotel by car.
• 19.00hrs - Arrive at the hotel.
