The journey
Walk through the fascinating city centre of Arles, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981. Arles may not be the biggest Provençal city, but it is one of the richest, known for its Roman arena, theatre, baths, and the Romanesque Saint-Trophime Church. The city is also internationally renowned thanks to the Impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh, who found inspiration in its unique light. As you wander through its streets, you will better understand the setting behind works such as the Yellow House, Cafe la nuit, and La nuit étoilée.
