Know before you go

• There are many steps in the Palais des Papes, but no elevator and no air conditioning.
• If you are travelling with a group, you should buy the monument entrance tickets online, especially in summertime.
• A combined ticket (Palais/Pont) or (Palais, Pont, Pontifical Gardens) can be used on the same day.
• Strollers must be left at the locker.
• Pets are not allowed when visiting the Pope's Palace, except guide dogs.
• Luggage deposit is available.
• Photos are allowed in all rooms of the Palace except the painted rooms, in order to preserve them.
• The cold wind known as the "Mistral" can blow hard. It blows throughout the year.
