Join us on a journey back in time to ancient Egypt with our cultural trip to the Pyramids of Giza and Sakkara. The Pyramids of Giza, also known as the Great Pyramids (Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus), are the last remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and then head to Sakkara, which is home to the step pyramid of King Zoser, the first pyramid ever built in Egypt.

Itinerary

Full-Day Cultural Tour of Giza Pyramids and Sakara
- Early morning, the tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo.
- Start the Giza Pyramids Tour with the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus.
- Proceed to visit the Great Sphinx, which dates back to the time of Chephren and visit the Valley Temple.
- Move to visit the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world's oldest stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser.
- Have your lunch at a local restaurant.
- After finishing the tour, transfer back to the hotel.

Traffic is heavy in Cairo, so allow extra time for your travels

Like many major cities, traffic in Cairo can be gridlocked. Driving around town takes longer than you’d imagine, so always allow extra time travelling from place to place. Egypt tour packages should include transit time when booking your itinerary but inquire about being sure

Be careful crossing the street in Cairo

Because there’s heavy traffic in Cairo, pedestrians must take care when crossing the busy streets. It’s best to walk with a group of people. You’ll quickly learn the traffic patterns and when to cross the streets, but remember: safety is in number.
