Day 01

Pamukkale Travertines, Hierapolis, and Taurus Mountains Journey

• Visit the ancient city of Hierapolis, listen to stories from your professional tour guide, and walk through the site to the travertine area.
• Enjoy free time to walk through this wonderful natural area, take pictures, and admire the scenery. Pamukkale/Hierapolis ranks among one of the oldest thermal cities in the world. The thermal waters of Pamukkale have offered beauty and health to people since ancient times. However, the goal of this trip is the miracle of nature that is Pamukkale, which translates as Cotton Castle in Turkish. The reasons for Queen Cleopatra's visit to Hierapolis were its limestone terraces, thermal water, beauty, and health.
• Drive from Antalya through the Taurus Mountains, passing Salda Lake on the way to Pamukkale. Arrive in Pamukkale at noon and have sufficient time to explore the limestone terraces and the ancient city of Hierapolis with its enormous necropolis and graves. In the afternoon, travel back towards Antalya.
• On the way, stop in Tavas to see a carpet loom and learn about the Turkish art of looming. This is a day trip that combines nature and culture.
