Old Town Landmarks and Historic Towers
- During our walking tour, we will see Saint Francis Gate, the medieval gateway to the Old Town, and Saint Francis Church, the oldest church of the Republic, dating back to the 14th century.
- We will also walk to the main square, where we will admire the Palazzo Pubblico, home to the Republic's Parliament and the Cabinet of the Secretaries (Ministers).
- We will also see the Saint Marinus Basilica, home to the reliquary containing the Patron Saint's bones, making it the religious heart of the State.
- We shall also see the Guaita Tower, erected in the 11th century to prevent enemy attacks from Rimini, and the Cesta Tower, once the highest watchtower, which now boasts a terrific view of the Adriatic Sea.
